Using PICO

Pico can be linked into CosmoMC and run in place of CAMB and the WMAP likelihood code whenever the chain is in a region of parameter space over which the regression coefficients used by Pico are defined. This allows for a tremendous speed up of CosmoMC as Pico is able to compute the power spectra, matter transfer function and WMAP likelihood very quickly. Below are step-by-step instructions for using Pico in several different situations.

1. Adding Pico to CosmoMC

Instructions detailing how to incoorporate Pico into CosmoMC in order to greatly speed up the exploration of parameter space.

2. Adding Pico to CAMB

Description of how to modify the default CAMB driver to use Pico to compute the power spectra and matter transfer function

3. Using Pico as a Standalone Application

Instructions on compiling Pico as a standalone program that can compute the CMB power spectrum and WMAP likelihood based on a user input or by reading the CAMB parameter file.

4. Training Pico

Instructions on how to train Pico are not yet available. Some example driver routines to train Pico as well as parameter files are available in the utils subdirectory of the Pico source.
